People saying no individual is bigger than the club doesn't really get the point of the video. The same thing happened to Raul, who at the time was Real Madrid's greatest player. They really ought to respect their legends more. This could come back and bite them in the a**

Casillas played two full seasons after Mourinho left and led Real Madrid to La Decima. He was phenomenal in the UCL 2013-14 barring the final

Look like your agenda won't work here

  3. @itachi-Kai

    Misinformation at its finest.
    1. Casillas stayed for two full season after Mourinho, being fantastic in the 13/14 CL campaign barring the final.
    2. Ronaldo wanted more money that Flo refused to match.

Expected better from The Athletic that supposedly has class leading journalists.

Please do not make videos like this with incorrect facts. Iker Casillas stayed for two more seasons after Mourinho left. We follow and subscribe to your content because it’s genuine and not misleading.

  5. @rahiljain90

    1. Iker Casillas stayed and started for 2 years after the departure of Mou

    2. Cristiano wanted higher salary to match Leo's at Barca, Madrid refused, he left

    3. Who's gonna mention- Casillas is still in a non playing role at Madrid: Deputy CEO- Real Madrid Foundation

    4. Ronaldo allowed to train at Madrid following departure from united.

you'd think all the trophies the best european 11 have won in their time for real madrid that they would be treated with more respect when they sent them off especially ronaldo after all the record breakings he accomplished the only goal scorer in my opinion who got ahead of puskas in terms of goals/match at real madrid

It’s a soulless dead money club. They are in the Man City, Chelsea and PSG group for me. They are not part of the legendary clubs like Liverpool, Man U, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Bayern, Barca and Juve

From what i know, that iker casillas was also the first time real madrid found out about his decision to leave and were caught complete off guard. They hastily set up a farewell ceremony and pretty much couldn't really get a lot of fans due to how abrupt the news was.

Madrid is a club that puts the club above any one else, no matter the person's status……its quite unfortunate and honestly disrespectful but its also the reason real constantly evolves nd stays at the top

  10. @LTFCSupporter

I think its good that they do this, when players are aging you need new ideas and new young players, having 11 old legends is stupid when you can have 11 young players who will grow, no matter how good you are once you are older you should be dropped

Ronaldo was being difficult, he deserved to be shunted out. He wanted the team to revolve around him but his performances didn’t deserve it. He thought he was bigger than the club. Ronaldo fan boys are going to criticise me, but that just proves the point, these band wagon fans just support a player, not the club. Ronaldo couldn’t see that he would eventually hold the club back.
