As soon as you said, "Trent is a good defender," I thought you had on your rose colored glasses. Trent is an elite attacker and an average defender, who turns into a defensive liability against good attacking teams unless the midfield cover for his defensive deficiencies. He is good technically, but his defensive awareness and positioning are poor. I expect Liverpool will get to the final, but they will need to cover Trent defensively.
I like how you broke down how they got to where they are. Not taking credit from what city has done but it seems like they’ve struggled coming here. Not really struggled. I think this is a very even game, city will have a lot of possession and that's where they will fumble. Vinicius and Valverde's role in this game will be pivotal to the outcome of the game. You forgot that Bayern and Juve swept their groups as number one. Villarreal have tied both real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, neither team had beat the yellow Submarine in home or away. Real Madrid have a freaky team and Atletico are hard nuts to crack. Villarreal is more than prepared to take on Liverpool. There is nothing they haven't done and they beat Man U and Arsenal last year in the UEFA league Cup.
